Bonnie Mager has been painting and exhibiting in the greater Bay Area for 30 years. She has participated in group and solo shows in Oakland, Berkeley, Calistoga, Concord, Lafayette, and Healdsburg, and is currently represented by The Blue Heron Gallery in Yountville. Another group of paintings are at the law offices of McDonough, Holland and Allen in Oakland and at Montclair Travel in Oakland. She has studied drawing and painting at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, CCAC, the Addison Institute of London, and continues to study with Louise Smith in Berkeley. She has taught art as a volunteer instructor in the Oakland Public Schools and Merritt College and teaches private classes to adults. She was the school gallery curator for Head-Royce School for 4 years. She is a founding member of the Random Works group which exhibits annually in the East Bay. She has contributed commissioned portraits to school fund raisers in Oakland and Berkeley.
Bonnie works in oil, watercolor, gouache, and pastel. She loves to paint en plein aire or works from sketches and photos in the studio. Favorite subject matter ranges from the landscapes of California, Tuscany, and Greece to the flowers of her Oakland Hills garden and the chickens on a friend's farm.
